An important part of the elderly peoples lives in Finland is also associations and organizations Many elderly people have a cottage spending a lot of time there or they want to spend time in the forest/nature Finnish elderly people travel a lot (40%) and especially women like to go to a theatre, movies or concerts (43%) The associations and voluntary organizations help the senior citizens to influence the society, organize trips, lectures and do a lot of volunteer work Jukka Kentala 16. 9. 2011
