Health & Wellbeing Service • Comprising of 3 service teams: – Active Cumbria – Public Health – CAST (Cumbria Advice & Support Team) • Led by Colin Cox (Assistant Director for Health and Wellbeing AND Director of Public Health) www. activecumbria. org
Wellbeing System Early Days, but: 1. 2. 3. 4. Focusing resources of 3 service teams to create and support a Wellbeing System Aim of system: To prevent people developing Long Term Conditions (LTCs) Achieved by: Addressing the health behaviours that are known risk factors for the development of LTCs; smoking, excess alcohol consumption, physical inactivity, poor diet (leading to overweight and obesity) and poor mental health. Acceptance that addressing physical inactivity will be a key element in the new system. www. activecumbria. org
Wellbeing System • Universal Support – accessible to all residents of Cumbria • Targeted Support – delivering a brief intervention and signposting to targeted support • Target Wellbeing Support – dedicated lifestyle and wellbeing support services • Specialist Support – dedicated lifestyle and wellbeing support services www. activecumbria. org
