Previous Knowledge. Some basic terms which we should know. Subject- The subject is a person or thing doing something. It can be a noun or a pronoun. It is usually placed before the verb. It is also known as a doer of any action. Object- An object is a person or thing on which an action has been performed or who receives an action. It can also be a noun or pronoun but other than the subject. It is also known as a receiver of an action. Verb- A word that describes about any action. Verb is also basically classified into helping or supporting verb and main verb. The example given below indicates all the above terms“The boys were helping the poor man. ” Subject- the boys(doer) Object- the poor man(receiver) Main verb- helping Helping verb- were

POINTS TO REMEMBER: �While transforming the sentences from active to passive, there are changes takes place on the basis of tenses, changes in pronouns, change in the position of subject and object takes place. �The structure of the passive sentence changes according to the form of tenses given in active form. �In Passive Voice main verb will always be in its past participle form or V 3 form. �There can be some sentences in active voice without subject. �They can be transformed into passive form. �The helping verb in passive form will be based on the form of main verb given in active form.
