What is an action plan? • An action plan is simply the steps which need to be taken to achieve the goal. • An action plan is the link between training and achieving your targets. • It is the implementation process which links new learning to practice in the classroom.

Action planning- the thinking process is very important • A good action plan needs

Action planning- the thinking process is very important • A good action plan needs to give detailed consideration to the innovation intended and the strategy that will be employed to implement it. • And remember the process of planning (the thinking it through step by step) is often more important than the plan.

An action plan might address the following questions • Who will benefit from the

An action plan might address the following questions • Who will benefit from the change? (pupils, myself, staff, the school? ) • What will be the costs for those affected? • Is the change easy to communicate to those concerned and will they see the purpose? • Will it be possible to adapt what is intended to suit specific circumstances? • Will additional or new resources be required? • How will I get feedback on progress?
