The Philippines Filipinos and Americans fought side by side to defeat the Spanish and were under the impression that they would be independent after the war. When they found out the US gained control they were furious. Led by Emilio Aguinaldo, the Filipinos revolted starting the Philippine-American War. For over 3 years, Americans fought and won to keep control. But at what cost?
