ACID RAIN WORD EQUATION Sulfur dioxide + water → Sulfuric acid

Experiment You are going to investigate how acid rain affects the growth of cress seedlings. Decide what things must be controlled (kept the same) in order for this to be a fair test.

Other pollutants Unburnt carbon and other particulates have been linked to asthma and cancer. High temperatures, such as those in a car engine, can allow nitrogen to react with oxygen to form poisonous nitrogen oxides which can also damage lungs and cause acid rain.
