Administering Achievement Tests with Testing Accommodations All testing accommodations must match instructional accommodations in the student’s IEP or 504 plan. To ensure valid assessment results, it is not permissible to simplify, paraphrase, explain, or eliminate any test item, writing prompt, or answer option. If a student’s IEP calls for a testing accommodation that is not listed in the Accommodations Guidelines, contact ADE for advice.

Requesting Special Paper Version (SPV) Tests
Only accommodations used regularly during instructions should be considered for assessment use. It is inappropriate to introduce an accommodations for the sole purpose of assessment and doing so may negatively impact student performance. Indicating Student Accommodations Az. M 2 TIDE will be used to set specific computer-based settings. Computer-based test settings and accommodations must be set in TIDE prior to the student testing. TIDE will be used to identify non-embedded accommodations after testing.
Indicating Student Accommodations Az. SCI Pearson. Accessnext (PAN) will be used to set specific computer-based settings. Computer-based test settings and accommodations must be set in PAN prior to the student testing. PAN will be used to identify non-embedded accommodations after testing.
SPV Accommodations – Az. SCI Students that require a Special Paper Version test must be approved by ADE and then identified in Pearson. Accessnext. There are four steps that must be completed to assign a Special Paper Version test to a student: • • Step One – Create a Special Paper Version Test Session Step Two – Identify Students for Special Paper Version Accommodations Step Three – Move Students to a Special Paper Version Test Session Step Four – Place an Additional Order for a Special Paper Version Test
Universal Test Administration Conditions
Test Administration Conditions Available for both Az. M 2 and Az. SCI. Specific Testing situations and conditions that may be offered to any student. Provides a comfortable and distraction-free testing environment. Universal Test Administration Conditions are available to any student who needs them, including those who have these listed in an IEP or 504 plan.
