EVAN SEIDEN INTERNATIONAL ZBS – SUMITOMO MITSUI BANKING CORPORATION (SMBC) TASKS & ASSIGNMENTS PROJECT SUMMARY • International ZBS is a cost reduction program for one of the largest international Japanese banks • Project Deliverable: • Initiative is focused on reducing third-party spend and optimizing their biggest business units • My Role & Responsibilities: Technology Travel HR Courier • Goal: Cut $20 MM in spend to fund expansion into N. OUTPUT OF MY WORK & WHAT I LEARNED • International ZBS has been in progress since late 2019 and will continue after I depart. I have enjoyed jumping right into the program, learning the concepts and procedures needed to conduct a ZBS project. • Each week we meet with SMBC’s IT team to touch base on our progress. They have welcomed my team and me, as well as the work we’ve created, which has fostered a productive partnership. While I will fall short of seeing our suggestions incorporated into their company management, I feel accomplished watching our client appreciate our findings. • I’ve learned in depth about how to leverage my strengths in Excel and Power. Point. Most importantly, I’ve learned how to effectively operate in a team. Our daily touchpoints and communication methods help us accomplish our goals at a high level. 3
