What is the Fleet Saver Programme? Incentive scheme aimed at encouraging the adoption of systematic management practices that will result in improved: – road safety – workplace injuries prevention – fuel savings – fleet viability and profitability – transport productivity

 • Modelled on: – WSMP – Australian heavy vehicle schemes – OSH injury

• Modelled on: – WSMP – Australian heavy vehicle schemes – OSH injury prevention • Incentives include reduced levy on ACC portion of vehicle licence fee • Specific audit standards must be met • Determined by ACC-approved on-site audit • Road safety best practice consistent with HSE Amendment Act 1992

Safer Journeys strategy: Safe System • Human error – People make mistakes and crashes are inevitable • Human vulnerability – The human body has a limited ability to withstand crash forces • Shared responsibility - System designers and system users must all shared responsibility for managing crash forces to a level that does not result in death or serious injury. • All of system approach - It will take a whole-ofsystem approach to implement the Government’s Safe System priority.
