During the Corona virus lockdown and living through these ever changing times one person

During the Corona virus lockdown and living through these ever changing times one person who has shown an incredible passion towards a specific cause is Captain Tom Moore.

Captain Tom, who is a World War Two veteran, celebrated his 100 th birthday

Captain Tom, who is a World War Two veteran, celebrated his 100 th birthday during the lockdown. So not to let this momentous occasion pass without celebration he thought about others and set up a Just Giving page to raise money for the NHS to show his appreciation for their amazing work. His initial target was to raise £ 1, 000 by walking 100 laps of his garden. He aimed to complete 100 x 25 metre laps, ten per day, using his walking frame. On April 30 th 2020, the day of his birthday, the total had surpassed £ 30, 000. Captain Tom had inspired the World to give generously to a profession who dedicate their lives to looking after others. Then to mark his 100 th lap the singer Michael Ball released the song You’ll Never Walk Alone featuring the NHS Care Choir and Captain Tom himself. The song reached Number 1 and all proceeds were also donated to the Trust.

So what about you? How have you adapted in the lockdown with your sport

So what about you? How have you adapted in the lockdown with your sport training? Have you been completing online dance lessons? Have you become interested in something new? Have you mastered a new skill? Have any of you written a diary or a story? Let me know through e-mail what you have been up to. As you know in our Knight House assemblies we love to celebrate and promote confidence. On our return we will continue in this way and I will be looking for volunteers to perform and read out stories and poems. Take Care and Stay Safe
