Academic Motivation 9 th & 10 th Grade Academic Achievement and Success - Lesson #2
Are you intrinsically or extrinsically motivated? ❏ Intrinsic Motivation: find motivation by setting goals for yourself. You are motivated by what you want to achieve! ❏ Extrinsic Motivation: find motivation outside your own goals to motivate you. You are motivated to earn a reward.
Ways to Increase Your Motivation ★ Establish a comfortable environment - set up a space that has all you need ready to go! ★ Create reasonable goals and a plan for your study time. ★ Take breaks - When you feel you need a break, try to stop at a logical point or set timers to break up your study time. ★ Eliminate distractions - choose a place that is conducive to focusing. ★ Study with friends! ★ Reward yourself for studying. After a successful study session treat yourself to something you enjoy! ★ Just do it! Once you do, you will feel a lot better than if you worry about getting it done!
