Childhood • Abraham was born on February 12, 1809. • As a child he lived in a log cabin in Kentucky and Ohio. • Abe and his older sister worked hard on the farm. • When they could be spared they went to school about two miles away. • He learned fast at school and was pretty smart. • His mother died when he was about nine years old.
