On Board �The ship’s First Class quarters provided room for 905 passengers in 416 cabins, staterooms and private suites of the highest standards. �Second Class passengers also enjoyed high standards of accommodation, with meals that were on a par with first class levels on other ships. �Perhaps less well recognised is the high level of comfort also available to Titanic’s Third Class passengers.

Activities on Board 1 st Class 2 nd C lass rd 3 Class • First class passengers could enjoy the ship's swimming pool, gymnasium, squash racquet court and Turkish baths. • For less energetic passengers, the ship’s orchestra played background music and performed in various public rooms during the day. • Deck games such as shuffleboard and quoits (ring toss) and board games, including chess and backgammon, were available to second class passengers • There was not much in the way of formal activities for third class passengers. • However, Titanic’s Poop Deck was a popular place to meet, relax and play deck games.

First class gymnasium The gymnasium was open for ladies between 9. 00 am and noon, and for gentlemen between 2. 00 pm and 6. 00 pm. Children were allowed in between 1. 00 pm and 3. 00 pm. There was an electric horse and camel, rowing machine and cycling machines.

Turkish Baths The Turkish Baths were right next door to the swimming pool. They were made up of a steam room, hot room, temperate room, electric bath room, cooling room and shampooing room. Woman could use the Turkish Baths from 10 am to 1 pm, while men could use them from 2 pm to 6 pm. Squash Court The charge to play was 2 shillings (£ 10 in 2020) for half an hour. There was a spectator's gallery above the court for guests to watch a match. The Titanic had two barbershops, one for 2 nd class and one for 1 st class. The 3 rd class passengers either had to have a haircut before, or after the voyage. The Barber shops were small, they had a waiting bench on one side and barber chairs on the other. Both barbers survived the sinking. Barber Shop

Second Class Library This was a room in which to read books, socialize, have afternoon Tea, play cards, write letters and for relaxation. It had writing desks by the windows with lamps and a large bookcase which functioned as the lending library. This room combined the functions of the library, lounge, writing room, and drawing room. Inside Entrance, the quintet would play 3 times a day: A performance from 10 am-11 am another performance from 5 pm 6 pm and a concert from 9: 15 pm 10: 15 pm

Second Class Boat Deck Here passengers could take a leisurely stroll, relax on benches, socialise with other travellers and meet people of different nationalities.

Third class general room It served as a lounge, a nursery and a recreational area. This was a gathering place for all of third classes 721 passengers.
