Day of Atonement • Only purification offering goat for people independently pointed to Christ’s sacrifice • Bull and ram for priests because priests were faulty • Burnt offering ram for laypeople added quantity (cf. Lev. 5: 6 -7)

Day of Atonement • Day of Atonement boils down to tale of two goats: • Lord’s goat for laypeople—Christ • Live goat for Azazel—someone else
