A Short Journey with Radicals It is always a pleasure to organic chemists to make a journey with radicals because of the following reasons: Ø It has dual character (electrophilic and nucleophlic radicals), which is not at all problematic but highly accommodative. Ø It is soft in nature. Ø It often makes fun by exhibiting its opposite behaviour (umpolung) compared to the conventional one (nucleophilic and electrophilic character). Ø High selectivity during halogenation of alkanes.
