Political ● Prince Ivan the third came to power in 1462. He began to conquer lands around moscow and build up strength. ● In 1480 he threw off mongol control. Tripled the size of moscow’s territory. ● Ivan the fourth strengthened the centralized russian government. He initiated a uniform code of laws to make the state more efficient. ● he fought feudalism and tried to lessen the power of the nobles.
Culture ● Catherine II also called Catherine the great was the leader following Peter the great ● Catherine and Peter both believed in building schools that supported Sciences, Art, and Technology education ● People in Russia at the time were following Christian Orthodox faith

Reasons for Decline ● ● ● Russian Empire was powerful and supported education in science and arts Started gradual decline after a civil war broke out War started because the serfs were tired of living in poverty while the Czars flourished There were over 20, 000 people in poverty The unbalance after the war led to a failed attempt at westernisation of Russia, The Empire fell This is a lot like the french government.
