A PERSONAL ANALYSIS At certain ages and stages of life it is almost natural to take an inventory life and ask…. • • • Where am I? Am I better or worse? Where am I going? What do I need to change (career, relationships, living arrangements, etc. ) Should I continue on this path? Have I fulfilled my goals By the Holy Spirit we become real and realistic about our personal life and the paths we’ve taken to get where we are and the paths we’ll take in our future.

A PERSONAL ANALYSIS Key Point - Never leave out the spiritual aspect of our life out of the equation. It should always be important what the Lord is saying and thinking in the seasons of life. Why? • • • It’s in him we live, move and have our being; He is our strength in weakness; He holds our world in His hands; He is the measuring rod By the Holy Spirit we become real and realistic about our personal life and the paths we’ve taken.

WHAT IS IT TO ANALYZE? ² To study (something) closely and carefully: to learn the nature and relationship of the parts of (something) by a close and careful examination Synonyms – Assess, diagnose, Examine, sort, Scrutinize, evaluate Examine – To inspect or Scrutinize carefully, observe, test, to investigate, to test the knowledge, reactions, or qualifications of.

HOW ABOUT ANALYTICAL? Analytical means - Skilled in or using analysis (careful study) especially in Thinking or Reasoning Synonyms – Logical, coherent, rational, sensible, Sound, well-founded, well-grounded

PUT IT ALL TOGETHER o To analyze is to study something closely and carefully. o This requires one to examine, scrutinize, assess, and evaluate. o o It requires thinking in a rational and sensible way. We have to think through things in order to be well-grounded, sensible, logical (clear, sound, well-organized, intelligent, wise and not the opposite, which is foolish, unclear, vague)

We Need The HOLY SPIRIT!! • We cannot analyze, do a personal analysis, etc. without the Holy Spirit – our Guide, Teacher, Helper, the Spirit of truth, and Counselor. (John 14 and 15) • The Holy Spirit helps us sift through the mental debris, brain fog, prejudices… • Without the Holy Spirit’s guidance, we will think wrongly and analyze according to the standards and culture of the world.

WHY SHOULD WE DO AN ANALYSIS? • • • To honestly see where we are; • To grow up and mature. To make an honest assessment of ourselves; To examine necessary change/make adjustments? God Requires Us To Analyze. Scripture uses the word “Examine” - To prove, test, assay (analyze), and scrutinize.

WHY SHOULD WE DO AN ANALYSIS? SCRIPTURES – • I Cor. 11: 28 (communion) - But let a man examine (scrutinize, which is analyze) himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. • Examine yourselves [not me]! STRENGTHS SWOT MEANING - A personal strength is an asset to you that can be used as a way to differentiate yourself from others. Ø Understanding that where we are today is not where we’re going to be forever. Ø Put in the work Ø See Life Broadly You are responsible for YOU.
