A Love Anthology selected by Cody B Introduction

A Love Anthology selected by: Cody B.

Introduction The theme of this anthology is love. Love is an amazing thing which has the power to change people and the way they look at certain things. Personally, I chose love as me theme because it is the only think that has gotten me through all my problems recently. A few pieces of poetry that reflect on that are, “My Best Friend” by Tim Mc. Graw and “When All Else Fails”, written by me. Other people find love within a hobby or a sport. I wrote the poems “Fishin’” and “Love for the Game” because many people love being outdoors are they love playing a certain sport. A lot of people love dogs, which is my motive for writing the poem “Puppies”. As a guy, I show an incredible amount of love to the women in my life, such as my mom and my girlfriend. The poem “What’s A Mother Worth” was a great poem that I found about love towards a mother. It definitely reflects how I feel about my mom.

My Best Friend (lyrics) By: Tim Mc. Graw I never had no one that I could count on I've been let down so many times I was tired of hurtin' So tired of searchin' Till you walked into my life It was a feelin' I'd never known And for the first time, I didn't feel alone You're more than a lover There could never be another To make me feel the way you do Oh, we just get closer I fall in love all over Everytime I look at you I don't know where I'd be Without you here with me Life with you makes perfect sense You're my best friend, oh yeah 2

You stand by me And you believe in me Like nobody ever has When my world goes crazy You're right there to save me You make me see how much I have And I still tremble when we touch And oh the look in your eyes When we make love You're more than a lover There could never be another To make me feel the way you do Oh, we just get closer I fall in love all over Everytime I look at you I don't know where I'd be Without you here with me Life with you makes perfect sense You're my best friend 3

You're more than a lover There could never be another To make me feel the way you do Oh, we just get closer I fall in love all over Everytime I look at you I don't know where I'd be Without you here with me Life with you makes perfect sense You're my best friend Mc. love is more thicker than forget By E. E. Cummings love is more thicker than forget more thinner than recall more seldom than a wave is wet more frequent than to fail it is most mad and moonly and less it shall unbe than all the sea which only is deeper than the sea love is less always than to win less never than alive less bigger than the least begin less littler than forgive it is most sane and sunly and more it cannot die than all the sky which only is higher than the sky Cummings, E. it is so long since my heart has been with yours By E. E. Cummings it is so long since my heart has been with yours shut by our mingling arms through a darkness where new lights begin and increase, since your mind has walked into my kiss as a stranger into the streets and colours of a town— that i have perhaps forgotten how, always(from these hurrying crudities of blood and flesh)Love coins His most gradual gesture, and whittles life to eternity --after which our separating selves become museums filled with skilfully stuffed memories Cummings, E. If those I loved were lost by Emily Dickinson If those I loved were lost The Crier's voice would tell me -If those I loved were found The bells of Ghent would ring -Did those I loved repose The Daisy would impel me. What's a Mother Worth? By: Unknown I humbly appraise my mother's worth, It began with pain to give me birth, Which triggered off a love so strong, Blossoming into a life-long bond. When needed, she was always there, Someone I realised would always care. And the older I got the more I knew, A mother's love sincere and true. Now as I watch Mum age in years, I'm happy to help and ease her fears. Privileged now to play my part, As she did for me from the very start. A BETTER TOMORROW By: Yvonne Warren I never knew there would be a better tomorrow But you've come into my life and taken away all my sorrow My days of sadness are a thing of the past Because I have found true love at last My days of emptiness are gone for good Because you fill a void in my heart that you should You've opened a window You've shown me the light And my love for you will continue to burn bright Warren, Yvonne. “A Better Tomorrow. ” “A Better Tomorrow Love Poem. ” http: //www. 1 lovepoems. com/pa 27. shtml April 26, 2010 9

All Because of You By: Kate Reneigh Woodruff I awake each day with a smile And greet it with a laugh; The world is a treasure to me Because of you. Every time I think of something sad, I replace thought- with you! My mind is instantly changed And my heart is filled with gladness. Every breath I take is meant for you, I live this life surrounded in joy And I bathe in the promise of your love, My soul belongs to you. Until I Met You By: Joanne Fuchs, Joanne. “Until I Met You. ” “Poem Source. ” http: //www. poemsource. com/lovepoems. html April 21, 2010 Before I met you, I thought I was happy, and I was, but I had never known the rich contentment, deep satisfaction, and total fulfillment you brought to me when you came into my life. Before I met you, I felt a lot of things, good things, but I had never experienced the indescribably intense feelings I have for you. Before I met you, I thought I knew myself, and I did, but you looked deep inside me and found fresh new things for us to share. Before I met you, I thought I knew about love, but I didn’t, until I met you. 11

When All Else Fails (End Rhyme) When all else fails you brighten my day. You make my sadness go away. The way you make me feel so right. That everyday battle is worth the fight. Love For the Game (Haiku) Hockey is my life. Passing, shooting, and scoring. True love for the game. 14

Love is in the Air (Quatrain) The snow has come and gone again, Birds chirping everywhere. The endless hibernation done And love is in the air! Spring is an amazing time, So warm and full of cheer. It’s cool night air relieves the mind, So pleasant and sincere. 15
