JUMP STARTS MISSION: �Their mission is to ensure that all children in America enter school prepared to succeed. Throughout the year Jump Start recruits and trains college students and community volunteers to work with preschool children in low-income neighborhoods. The program helps children develop language, literacy and social skills.

SAN BERNADINO, CALIFORNIA �Head starts in San Bernadino, California are recruiting families of children with disabilities to enroll their children for their “jump start” program. �Physical, speech, vision or developmental The heard start program is a long established federally funded program that is free for low- income families. There are over 40 Head Start locations in San Bernadino County accepting applications but however ONLY 10% OF THOSE SPOTS ARE RESERVED FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES.

IT’S A GOOD PROGRAM! �The program is both for children with disabilities and for those families that suspect that their child might have a disability. “The program believes that early ages between one and five are critical to give children a strong foundation developmentally that will help their future. This is the mission for the Head Start for every child, but especially important for those with disabilities. ”

EARLY INTERVENTION IS SO IMPORTANT A disability can often cause a child to develop slower than others without professional help. The Head Start program is trying to close this gap and provide children with a better opportunity for SUCCESS! �The program works with specialist and the community to ensure these children and families support. � Children will receive specialized help from nurses, mental health specialists, dieticians and education specialists. ***CHILDREN ARE ASSESSED WHEN THEY ENROLLED THE PROGRAM AND THEIR PROGRAM IS CHARTED.
