1942 Mr. Bug Goes to Town This film is was produced by Fleischer Studios, and was released in California and New York City in February 1942. The film tells the tale of a grasshopper named Hoppity going on a journey to save the insects of Manhattan. It was the first film to feature the voice actors in the ending credits.

The film script went through many drafts because the writers kept making the story too dark for a children’s film.

M. Berrie. It features a boy, Peter Pan, and a young girl named Wendy. They go on an adventure to Neverland where you meet characters like Captain Hook. This was the last film Disney made with RKO Radio Pictures before he made his own distribution company. Production was temporarily halted by the US Military when they commissioned Disney to produce War Propaganda following the Pearl Harbor bombing.

1964 Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer was a Christmas stopmotion television special. It was produced by what is now Rankin/Bass Productions and was sponsored by General Electric. It tells the familiar story of Rudolf and how he gets his position in the lineup for Santa’s Sleigh. The film was made using the company’s trademark stop animation technique called “Animagic”. They filmed the process in Tokyo at MOM Productions.

1984 Nausicaa: Valley of The Wind Nausicaa of The Valley of The Wind is a Japanese animated film directed by Hayao Miyazaki and it is based on a manga he made in 1982 of the same name. The music of the film is composed by Joe Hisaishi. The film was produced by animators who were paid per frame. It tells the story of Princess Nausicaa and how she protects her people from giant insects and invading armies. Nausicaa is considered on of the best animated films of all time and had a production schedule of only nine months. It follows a detective who must exonerate Roger Rabbit. Disney got other production companies to “lend” their characters for the film and worked with them to determine how they would appear. It was the most expensive film at the time with a budget of 30 million dollars.

1997 Anastasia is animated musical film produced in association with Fox Animation Studios. It tells a fictional interpretation of the Russian Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna. In creating the film the producers did research on the events that occurred in Russia so many years back. They decided that the actual story was too dark and instead made Grigori Rasputin the villain for the film.

2001 Spirited Away is a Japanese animated film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. It tells a coming-of-age story of young Chihiro and her journey to get her parents back from the evil witch Yubaba. 2013 Steven Universe is an American Cartoon Network television series. It tells the story of a young boy named Steven and his family The Crystal Gems. The series was created by Rebecca Sugar, and she spends most of her time assisting with storyboarding. The team sends the rough drafts of an episode to Korea where they work with animation teams via video calling to ensure the show is the best it can be. 2016 The Red Turtle is an animated film that was co-produced by Wild Bunch and Studio Ghibli. The film has no dialogue as it tells the story of a man who is shipwrecked on an island meets a majestic female red turtle. The film has won a lot of awards, including Best Animated Feature – Independent at the Annie Awards in 2017.
