A Character’s Character A test of character is how a person reacts to a challenge. Some have stood up for their beliefs no matter what the situation. After reading the story entitled “The Wise Old Woman, ” you will create a comic strip of your. interpretation of the bravery of this 70 year old woman. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Re-read the story entitled, “The Wise Old Woman” on pages 5 -12 in your Holt literature book. Focus on the bravery the author uses to convey the tone and mood of the story. Go to http: //www. makebeliefscomix. com. Give your commix a name and put your name for the Author. Create a text-dependent comic strip of your interpretation of the old woman including three examples of bravery from the story. Follow the directions given on the website to customize your characters, setting, …etc. Make sure to convey the main idea of the story in your interpretive comic strip. Refer to your Comic Strip Rubric. When you are finished with your commix, use the Snipping Tool to “snip” your commix strip. Make sure you include the title and author boxes at the top of the commix. Click the picture of the save disk in the Snipping Tool Box. Rename the file with your first initial and your last name underscore comic woman (Example: abuxton_comicwoman) Print your commix and save it in your ELA folder on your “H” drive.
