Period 2 Word of the Day - Team I like being part of a Team. I like that ideas get shared and that everybody has a say. I like that sometimes we crack up and have fun and that sometimes we are serious and totally excited about the work that we are doing together. Being part of a team means that I am not making decisions by myself, but as a group, and that everyone's together in making the decision happen. Being part of a team means that I can’t put myself first, but instead the team is first and all parts of the team are valuable. Being on a team means that some other people value my ideas and that I bring something to the table. Sometimes I am the smart part of the team and sometimes I am the silly part of the team that does not get it. FFA has taught me a lot about being part of a team. I have to listen to other’s ideas and I have to make the priority the group. I need to do my part and not let others down when I am on a team. I need to remember that I am representing others when I am on a team. My actions to reflect on myself and all the parts of my team. If I am not doing my best the rest of the team has to cover for me, help me get caught up or suffer from my lack of participation. I don’t’ ever want someone else to be hurt by me not doing my job. I try to always do my best when I am on a team, so that I don’t let others down. I like being on a team.
Period 3 Word of the Day - Team I like being part of a team. Being part of a team means that if I make a mistake there is someone else there who will help me out. Being part of a team means it is ok for me to ask for help and admit that I don’t know everything. A team means that my brain does not have to have all the answers and that I can learn from another person. If I ask for help and learn from someone else I am adding to my knowledge and making the other person feel good that they are teaching me something I did not know. I can make someone feel good about themselves, for knowing more than I do. I like feeling good and I like making others feel good too. When you are on a team you can imagine bigger and better stuff to do because you are not alone to do all the work and answer all the questions. When you are part of a team you all share your best stuff and build a great project or complete a big task that could not be done by yourself. When you are part of a team there is someone to check your work and help fill in the blanks of your idea. I like being part of a team. ‘A-Team’, that was a funny show I use to watch on TV when I was growing up. They were a team and they always had some crazy job or adventure to complete and they always depended on each other to get the task done. They could build anything and make up any story in the process. They were a great team.
Period 5 Word of the Day - Team I like being part of a team. Once when I was on team we had a fun trip planned. I was so excited for the trip, then at the last minute, a bunch of people cancelled. I was so very bummed. The trip still happened and the members that went still had a good time but it just was not as epic as I had anticipated. I had planned so many things I wanted to talk about and do on the trip that no longer seemed appropriate because all the parties were not there. I felt like if I did the stuff without some of the members that I would be leaving some people out and that would be a bummer for the team. I did not want to have to tell the other people about it afterwards and risk them being left out or worse yet, not being excited about what we did. When you plan a trip and you set expectations for that trip, it really is sad when you don’t accomplish some of the things you had hoped for. Life is like that too. Sometimes an event is in your future and you have so many expectations and hopes about it that when it does not happen the way you had envisioned it, it tarnishes the whole experience. Expectations really make the process volatile. If everything you did you could have the fun of the anticapation up front to relish but not the disappointment at the end…. Life would be perfect.
Period 6 Word of the Day - Team I like being part of a team. Being on a team means that I don’t have to make excuses about my abilities. I will be integrated into the team and the areas that I am weak, someone else will be strong. I can do my best and it is ok. If there is something that I am not good at, there will probably by a person who is good at that and they can help me. Asking for help, when you are on a team is ok. The person helping you can make your better and feel confident that they know something that you don't. If I was on a team and my team mate helped me, both of us would benefit and that the team would be stronger too. Sometimes the smartest or the strongest persion is the person who asks for help and really means it. Receiving help from another human is a
Period 1 -6 Word of the Day Leadership I have not done a very good job of leadership this past week about the FFA Ceremonies. I should have demonstrated what I expected and done more on one practice with each group. A good leader knows what their people need and helps them get that. I could also, talk about public speaking more and try to find a gift in each person. I need to meet with each group and find the time to help them get to where they need to be. I need to have each group preform their parts for me so that I can give each one individual help. I also need to explain that a speaker is not always the easiest task to overcome but that most every successful person in the world has to speak at some time to a group to get there point across or to share ideas or sell product. I want all my students to be good speaker and represent themselves the best possible way that they can. I want all my students to feel empowered when they speak and confident when they stand before a group. I want all of my students to know that everyone feels a little nervous but the nerves mean that you are caring about the situation and that is ok.
