Cavity Layout 2017 Shutdown – Current Design Blower Location Cavities To Be Installed Off-Line Chiller Placement B 2 B 3 Y 2 Notes: AY 2 AB 1 AY 1 • Repair cavities: B 2, Y 3 • Build cavities: B 3, Y 2 Amplifiers To Be Installed • Install of cavities off-line: B 2, B 3, Y 2 • Install cavity in test area: Y 3 • Install Amplifiers in RHIC: AY 1, AB 1, AY 2 • Water drops in for: Y 1, B 1, Y 2 • Cabling for: RF, Controls, Vacuum to: Y 1, B 1, Y 2 • Electric: • Overhead: Quads for local power and 208 for chiller • Wall: 480 for blower

Cavity Layout 2017 Shutdown – Vacuum Bake-out Completed New Stand for Valves Valve Installed Notes: To Be Installed Off-Line • Valve at Stochastic installed. • Bake-out both lines between 197 s and Cold section completed. • Locate / Prepare for Off-line installation: • Ion Pump & Stand, Gauges, Valve, Bellows, Spool Pieces. • Cabling • Design new stand for valves on 197 s.

Cavity Layout 2017 Shutdown – Electric 208 for Blower Tray Installed 110 208 110 Notes: • All cable tray installed. • Some Quads and 208 (box only) installed. • Finish installing 110 / 208 overhead. • Install 480 for blowers • Amplifiers? 110 208 110 Amplifiers

Cavity Layout 2017 Shutdown – Water Y 2 Notes: • Manifolds fabricated and installed on stands. • 20 ft sections w/ taps fabricated. • Install new water lines & drops. (when to shut pumps down? ) • Place chiller order. (Network connection? ; 14 wk lead. ) • Design a manifold for new chiller to feed 3 cavities. • Prepare old chiller for test area? B 1 Y 1 Amplifiers

Cavity Layout 2017 Shutdown – Mechanical Extend Air Manifold Blower Air Manifolds Notes: • Install Blowers / Piping / Manifolds. • Design “walk-over” for 2018 installation.

Backup Slide – Walkover (Mechanical) Notes: • When all 6 cavities are installed (being installed) there well be no “walk-under” access until after the Stochastic Cooling section. • Propose to install a “walk-over” with stairs. • Best location would be over Q 3 To avoid proximity to “pit”, but for installation period of cavities location above D? may be better.

Cavity Layout 2017 Shutdown – Cavities Dates: • Nov. 7, 2017 – Parts return from Vendor (STRECKS). • Nov. 9, 2017 – Ship parts return to Vendor (Thermo. Fusion) • Dec. 11, 2017 – Parts return from Vendor (Thermo. Fusion) • Dec. 28, 2017 – First RF Center Conductor Finished • Jan. 2, 2018 – Begin Installation of First RF Center Conductor in RHIC tunnel. • Jan. 8, 2018 – First Cavity closed up and ready (w/o capacitor).
