Information Technology Replacement (HB 1, Article IX, Sec. 9. 04) • Requires agencies receiving appropriations for IT to perform cost -benefit analysis of leasing vs. purchasing • Enforces agencies’ compliance to Data Center Services (DCS) requirements and participation in DIR bulk purchases when making IT purchases • Allows DIR to require state agencies with IT purchase plans to participate in bulk purchasing efforts • Requires DIR to report cost savings of bulk purchases to the LBB TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS FOR GOVERNMENT AND EDUCATION

Server Consolidation Status Update (HB 1, Article IX, Sec. 9. 09) • Requires agencies participating in DCS program to report quarterly to LBB and DIR on status of their server consolidation • Requires DIR to report quarterly to LBB on the statewide progress of server consolidation within DCS TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS FOR GOVERNMENT AND EDUCATION

Cybersecurity and Legacy System Priorities (HB 1, Article IX, Sec. 9. 10) §Requires DIR to submit to LBB a prioritization of state agencies’ cybersecurity and legacy systems modernization projects to be considered for funding TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS FOR GOVERNMENT AND EDUCATION

Overall State Information Security (SB 34) • Requires DIR to submit report to state leadership evaluating overall information security of the state • Report is based on information security plans agencies submit to DIR per SB 1597 (83 R) TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS FOR GOVERNMENT AND EDUCATION

Interagency Data Coordination and Transparency Commission (SB 1844) Charges commission to study and review: • Current public data structure, classification, sharing and reporting protocols for state agencies • Possibility of collecting and posting data from state agencies online in an open source format that is machine-readable, exportable and easily accessible by the public • Requires commission to report on findings by September 1, 2016 TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS FOR GOVERNMENT AND EDUCATION

Study on Accessing Electronically Stored Information (SB 1878) • Directs DIR to conduct study to determine feasibility of implementing new identification and access requirements for accessing certain information electronically stored by the state • Requires report to be issued by Nov. 30, 2016 TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS FOR GOVERNMENT AND EDUCATION
