Set- Up and General Information • We want to play goal-kicks short so we can have control of the ball. • The 11 should put the ball down in the middle of the box so they can pass to both sides in all moments. • This may lead to some mistakes/errors but the players will get more and more comfortable as we do it. • If 2/3/4 are not an option (completely marked), that means the other team has pressed very high and we can look to play it longer, over the top of them • How fast can the players get into their starting spots? Can they back pedal to get there so they can see the ball? • How fast can the 1 get the ball in?
8 v 8 Goal Kick- First Step 9 stays and is reading the play 11 Ball is played to 3, who receives across body and forward 11 loses their man 4 comes to support 3 9 1 is always an option 7 8 shows as 8 an option 2 and 7 shrinks the space 4 2 1

8 v 8 Goal Kick- Next Steps • If 2/3 are not an option, look to find 4 on the half turn • The 8 s feet is the next option • If those are not options, can GK find 11/7 higher up the field • Lastly, if none of those are on, play the ball beyond there first line of players to our 9 in a wide channel
