A Reminder… The Willington Public Works crew is on call 24/7. They are readily available when there is a town disaster, snow storm, flooding, trees falling down and road repairs and much more. The crew is a hard working bunch who do their best to make Willington a great town.

New Diesel Pump The Public Works Department is the main fueling station for: 2 Fire Departments, M & J Buses, Public Works, and the Animal Control Officer. Public Works is responsible for maintaining the Phoenix K 800 Fuel System. The K 800 system is very old and is in DOS format, it keeps records of the town’s fuel usage and fuel levels.

Storm Alfred, October 29 th, 2011 By Saturday afternoon the storm had hit hard, power was out all over town and many surrounding towns. The Public Works crews from the towns of Groton, Coventry, Canterbury, Lebanon, Hebron, East Lyme & Stonington came to our rescue. What would we give for a crew of this size, FULL TIME!

Mutual Aid Tolland comes every year, FREE OF CHARGE and spends a few days grooming all of our fields. We have worked with Union paving and in return they gave us a day of fabricating.
This is one way we have found to keep our road signs from being vandalized or stolen Too bad it takes to long!!!

Emergency Response Traffic Control Trailer Public Works Director, Lynn Nicholls is on many committees including The Regional Emergency Support Function. They received a grant for 3 Traffic Control Trailers and Willington was honored to be one of the “Hosting towns” of this Emergency Trailer worth $22, 041. 00. .
