Legislative Task Force PURPOSE: To receive, hear, edit, and prepare all bills agreed upon

Legislative Task Force PURPOSE: To receive, hear, edit, and prepare all bills agreed upon by members of an Episcopal District for submission to the General Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Legislative Task DUTY: It shall be the duty of the Legislative Task Force to

Legislative Task DUTY: It shall be the duty of the Legislative Task Force to keep the Episcopal district aware of proposed legislation and encourage the members of the district to participate in discussion related to the same.

Legislative Task Force ACCOUNTABILITY: The Legislative Task Force shall, from time to time, as

Legislative Task Force ACCOUNTABILITY: The Legislative Task Force shall, from time to time, as the presiding bishop may see fit, report to the Annual Conference and seek the input and concurrence of the Annual Conference. Suggest that the annual conference representatives take every opportunity to seek from and report to the members of churches in each annual conference. That would include but not be limited to PE meetings and component gatherings. Such reports will CONVO information regarding legislation should also be circulated. Finally, either the 5 th District website or a separate page should provide updated information in order for the members of the local congregations to access updates. Input nor editing would be permitted on this page. Input would follow an established procedure via the annual conference appointees to the TF. Comments would be welcomed and captured in special section and/via email, fax and multimodal tools.

Chair – Sis Jacquelyn Dupont-Walker Co-Chair – Rev Roger Richardson Each annual conference should have two representatives - one clergy and one la Ad-hoc representatives would include one person from each connectional organization/dept. who would serve to advise/respond to legislation related to their organization/dept. in order for the TF to have most credible information for its deliberations. .

LEGISLATIVE TASK FORCE ORGANIZATION 5 STANDING COMMITTEES The Task Force shall THEOLOGY/BELIEFS – organize itself and elect such officers and adopt such Bylaws as necessary to carry out its duties Suggested Officers: Principal Clerk of Records, Assistant Clerk, Corresponding Clerk, and Hospitality Coordinator How and what we do to carry out the mission of the AME Church ADMINISTRATION – Operations of all depts. and components MINISTERIAL AFFAIRS – Ministry including ordained and lay FISCAL ADMINISTRATION – Funding and Management of financial matters TBD
