Buss Kneader Working Principle 10. 11. 2011 / KF 5 th Congress of Plastics Converters
Self-cleaning and Mixing Efficiency Distributive mixing by screw flight movement through the melt Dispersive mixing in the shear gap between bolt and screw flight 10. 11. 2011 / KF 5 th Congress of Plastics Converters
General Buss Kneader Advantages - Split barrel for easy cleaning maintenance and modifications - Segmented screw and liners - Working principle ensures optimal temperature and shear control - Highest mixing efficiency for max. filler loading - Liquid tempering of barrel and screw for perfect process conditions - Exact measurement of melt temperature via thermocouples in pins - Max. feeding of liquid additives via injection pins - Newest Kneader series with more efficient 4 -flight screw 10. 11. 2011 / KF 5 th Congress of Plastics Converters
Full modularity of process section The screw consists of individual elements, which can easily be exchanged or replaced. Also kneading pins and barrel liners can easily be exchanged or replaced. 10. 11. 2011 / KF 5 th Congress of Plastics Converters
Exact measurement of melt temperature Thermocouple located in pin and directly immersed in polymer melt 10. 11. 2011 / KF 5 th Congress of Plastics Converters
Max. feeding of liquids via injection pin Liquid directly injected into polymer melt 10. 11. 2011 / KF 5 th Congress of Plastics Converters

CP Kneader mixes Carbon Paste for Anodes This Kneader series has nothing to do with plastic industrie. It should just show our biggest machine! 10. 11. 2011 / KF 5 th Congress of Plastics Converters
Summary l The Buss Kneader is a compounding extruder with rotating-oscillating screw interacting with static kneading pins in the barrel l This special working principle combines perfect dispersive and distributive mixing with minimal heat up of the melt l Using a Buss Kneader is mainly advisable for temperature and shear sensitive applications l For easy cleaning and quick maintenance all Buss Kneaders have a split barrel design for opening l The kneading pins can be also effectively used for liquid injection into the process chamber and for measuring exact melt temperature along the barrel 10. 11. 2011 / KF 5 th Congress of Plastics Converters
