Direct object Jean voit souvent son ami. Son ami voit souvent Jean et son ami se voient souvent. Indirect object Tu parles souvent à Marie te parle souvent. Vous vous parlez souvent.

5 Les actions réciproques 2. In the passé composé reciprocal verbs are conjugated with être. The past participle agrees with the reciprocal pronoun when it is the direct object of the sentence. There is no agreement when the pronoun is an indirect object. Direct Jean a vu son ami. Et son ami a vu Jean. Indirect Jean a parlé à son ami. Et son ami a parlé à Jean. Agreement Jean et son ami se sont vus. No agreement Jean et son ami se sont parlé.
