General Chairman Steven Freeman is the General Chair for the 2019 Gas Lift Workshop. Steven is a Gas Lift Expert with Shell International EP. He works for Shell providing support to Shell Business Units. Prior to joining Shell he worked Schlumberger and Weatherford in their ALS Divisions. Keynote Speaker The workshop Keynote Address for the 2019 Gas Lift Workshop will be given by Jim Raney of Anadarko Petroleum. Jim Raney graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1975. Jim joined Mobil Oil in 1981 after serving 6 years on active duty. He served in a variety of technical and management assignments with Mobil. At the merger of Exxon and Mobil in 1999, Jim served a technical advisor to Exxon. Mobil Production Company before joining Anadarko Petroleum’s International team in 2001. He was called to active duty to support Operation Enduring and Iraqi Freedom soon after 9/11. In 2004, Jim Raney returned to Anadarko and is currently in the Director, Engineering & Technology. Jim currently leads the Anadarko Petroleum’s HP/HT efforts to qualify 20, 000 psi BOP, riser, subsea equipment and subsurface equipment for a Go. M development. Jim currently serves as a member and past chair of the API Committee on Standardization of Oilfield Equipment and Materials (CSOEM), past chairman of the API Global Industry Service Committee (GISC) and current chairman of API 16 A, HPHT Work Group. He is past chairman of the API Monogram Program Board (MPB), API Protocol for Equipment Rated above 15, 000 psi Committee (TR PER 15 K-1) and past member of the Board of Director for the Research Partnership to Secure Energy for America (RPSEA).
