Humanity’s journey wasn’t easy, but what connected us and made us stronger was perseverance and the strong will to succeed. The difference between failure and success is the ability to acknowledge the mistakes and correct them fast enough to be able to make new ones… “It is difficult to say what is impossible, for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow. ” -Robert H. Goddard With each attempt of turning their dreams into reality, humans
Made the impossible
Inspired generations of explorers…
Broke the barriers…
Made the unknown…
Spreaded the word…
Made a shelter amongst the stars…
Changed the rules…
Sparkled the sky with the brightness of the Space Age…
The word “impossible” shatters into pieces at the horizon of humanity’s imagination Exploration is a part of who we are
RAMA Taking over the future Step by step
How did our story begin? We wanted to develop a reliable, low-cost approach to the space settlement business. The constant improvement of the space industry in the last 60 years inspired us to develop a step by step plan based on EXPERIENCE. The more experience with space you have, the quicker you can adapt to all the unpredictable situations that may occur. The inspiration for the name we took from Arthur C. Clarke’s novel “Rendezvous with Rama”, depicting a complex O’ Neill Cylinder Shaped Settlement.
Stages of evolution: Stage I will be taking place in ELEO, safe from radiation, minimizing the costs. The materials needed for construction will be taken from earth, using the now-under-development BFR reusable rockets 1. Build a lunar mining and research base near the polar area 2. Build a second assembly base in L 1 (Moon-Earth) Stage II will be taking place in L 4(Sun-Earth), after years of research conducted in the first stage. Ø Propel the settlement from ELEO to L 4 Ø Use drones to gather raw materials from asteroids Ø Pave the way to a future in which we are not confined to earth
Space Economy Rama will use mostly space-based resources, that way saving billions and creating new opportunities for developing a totally new and young economy. The resources are there, we just need to stretch our hands a little… “Space exploration is cheap. Not exploring is always very, very expensive” -Phil Plait
Science behind Rama People have always dreamed to conquer the outmost borders of the universe. Assuring the elements of life(N, P, O, C, S, H) was the first thing considered when designing the settlement. For instance, instead of relying on earth to acquire oxygen and nitrogen we thought of exploiting asteroids and other moons of exoplanets. Apart from regolith on moon, we will harvest Helium 3 for the inner atmosphere of Rama and power up the nuclear engines on each module.
