PROJECT GOALS • • • To finish the process of connecting the missing link of 37 th St from US 287 to the existing section of 37 th St east of Lincoln Ave. Construct a new structure that meets current loading and sizing requirements Provide bike and pedestrian facilities that will connect across Dry Creek. 4
PROJECT BENEFITS • • • Improve connectivity and capacity of the City’s transportation network Reduce vehicle travel time and emergency response times Increased east-west route options for all modes (people walking, biking or driving) Reduce out-of-direction travel and neighborhood cut-through traffic Provide a structure that will structurally operate sufficiently and allow Dry Creek flows to pass under 5
BACKGROUND • • • Improvements are on the City’s Transportation Master Plan and the stream/bank stabilization projects are in the City’s Stormwater Master Drainage Plan. 37 th Connector was originally shown on the 1981 Shadow Hills Subdivision Plat. ROW was dedicated with this plat. This portion of the project will be completed in conjunction with the 37 th St Connector Phase 1 improvements that were awarded earlier in the year. 6
