3408 Financial Management Resource Officer FY 2018 Enlisted to Warrant Officer Selections

MOS MANUAL Formulate and supervise the execution of policies and procedures pertaining to the accounting for appropriated funds (FMF & Supporting Establishments). Specific duties and tasks include, but are not limited to: • Supervising Financial Management Resource Offices • Advising Commanders and Comptrollers on technical aspects of accounting policy and procedures • Working knowledge of the Standard Accounting, Budgeting and Reporting System (SABRS) • Full understanding of all SABRS Business Feeder systems (e. g. DTS, PR-Builder, SPS, WAWF, EDA, POWERTRACK, FAS, …etc. ) • Identifying and reporting financial systems problems • Validating accounting records for accuracy. MOS MANUAL • Evaluating and analyzing financial information, performing trend analysis and business process reengineering for effective and efficient use of resources • Providing training to the various fund holders; tracking accounting system changes and interfaces • Performing as liaison with Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) • Serving as the financial management expert for SABRS, business feeder systems to the accounting system, or at an Intermediate Supply Support Activity, or SASSY Management Unit (SMU) • Maintaining a working knowledge of the SABRS reporting tool, Report Net; and mastering appropriate accounting duties performed in order to understand support computer systems and their applications. SELECTION CRITERIA • Selection should be based upon MOS expertise/experience. The Vast majority of 3408 billets are at the Major Command level and higher, where the 3408 is the single accounting expert within the entire command. FY 2018 Enlisted to Warrant Officer Selections

REQUIRED SCHOOLS • School Name: -Fiscal/Budget Technicians Course MOS Assigned 3451 -Advanced Financial Management Career Course MOS 3451 • Desirable Education Requirements: -Certified Defense Financial manager (CDFM) -College level courses in accounting, finance, or business -MCI Courses in the areas of accounting, finance, and computers FY 2018 Enlisted to Warrant Officer Selections

DESIRABLE PAST ASSIGNMENTS • Service at a Major Supporting Command Comptroller, both Operating Forces and Supporting Establishment • Assignment which indicates the depth of experience and maturity expected of a Warrant Officer in order to work and function independently FY 2018 Enlisted to Warrant Officer Selections

OCC Field Manager Comments • Due to the wide range of technical expertise and background required to successfully perform as a financial management resource officer, it is recommended that Marines from other occupational fields not be selected to serve in MOS 3408. • Consideration may be given only to those applicants who possess recent extensive document experience, as indicated on prior slides, and hold an additional MOS of 3451.
