Training Plan Development Before a new miner begins work at the miner must New Miner Training be provided with no less than 4 hours of training in 7 designated subjects which must address site-specific hazards. ·A Site Tour is a requirement for mine operators. ·Independent contractors are not required to use this method in new miners training. However contractors may receive a site tour during their site specific hazard training. 6

Training Plan Development Annual Refresher Training Annual refresher training must include: Instruction on changes at the mine that could adversely affect the miner’s health or safety. The changes could be equipment, environment or process. 21
Training Plan Development Annual Refresher Training Refresher training must also address other safety and health subjects that are relevant to mining operations at the mine. No minimum amount of time per session of training 22
