Way Forward • Requirements for SA UL MIMO PC 2 UE are incomplete/ambiguous in current R 15 RAN 4 specs. • Option 1: Continue discussion to complete in R 15. • Option 2: Live with what we have now in r 15, continue discussion in R 16
Way Forward • Options of clarification of transparent Tx. D in Rel-15 • Option 1: – Tx requirements for transparent Tx. D follow UL MIMO approach, i. e. requirements are defined under single antenna connector or sum of the two antenna connectors. – Clarify in the RAN 4 spec TS 38. 101 -1 Clause 6. 1 or 6. 2. 1 that for single antenna port, “Unless otherwise stated, the UE output power is measured as the sum of the output power at each UE antenna connector. ” – How to test UE transparent Tx. D is up to RAN 5. • Option 2: – No change for RAN 4 Rel-15 spec – Inform RAN 5 that FR 1 single antenna port requirements can be verified with similar method as FR 2, i. e. perform the output power measurement at each antenna connector separately and sum the results • Option 3: – Others
Way Forward • R 15 UL MIMO emission requirements shall apply to UE level. • Relating MPRs are need to be re-visited.
Way Forward • Reply at least some questions of incoming RAN 5 LS R 5 -198688/R 41916132 • RAN 4 requirements for FR 1 Tx. D shall apply at a UE level. Including output power, emission etc. • Whether certain test could be done at antenna connector level is still open. • RAN 4 have the same understanding that maximum number of UL antenna connectors for Tx diversity is 2.
