Background • In RAN 4#94 e-bis, companies’ views on MRTD for FR 2 inter-band CA can be summarized as – MRTD with common beam management • Option 1: 260 ns (Apple, Mediatek, Qualcomm, Samsung) • Option 2: 7 us (Nokia) • Option 3: 8 us (Ericsson, Verizon) • Option 3 a (Huawei): 8 us if FR 2 inter-band CA with common beam management needs to be applied for non-co-located deployment – MRTD with independent beam management • Option 1: 4~5 us (Apple, Mediatek) • Option 2: 8 us (Ericsson, Huawei, Qualcomm, Samsung, NTT DCM, Verizon) • Option 3: 7 us (Nokia) 2
WF on FR 2 inter-band CA • Continue discussing the definition and applicable band combinations of common and independent beam management in RF session • Decision on MRTD for common beam management will be pending on the assumptions of common beam management defined in RF session – FFS the existing MRTD requirement for FR 2 inter-band NR carrier aggregation in TS 38. 133 can be applied for common beam management. • MRTD for independent beam management will be decided by RAN 4#95 e based on majority view. – Clarify the FR 2 MRTD defined in Table 7. 6. 4 -2: Maximum receive timing difference requirement for inter-band NR carrier aggregation in TS 38. 133 is at least can be applied for independent beam management.
