It is known as “sympathetic” magic among primitive people. The serpent on the bishop’s staff symbolized temptation. The bishop protects the flock from the serpent

Healing Cross (P 7) Discuss Jesus’ death upon the Cross. Q: How has it become a symbol of our healing for our sins? Sin causes suffering, pain and death. Christ took on our sins on the Cross.
