We want to read about International Mother language day.

Objectives • The students can read the passage and practice pronunciation following words. • They will have written a paragraph about International Mother Language day. • They will know how to achieve our mother tongue. • They will memorize some vocabularies form the text. 2/24/2021

Read through the passage • 21 February is a memorable day in our national history. We observe the day every year as International Mather Language Day. The day is a national holiday. Many heroic sons sacrifice their lives for their mother tongue. We pay tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives to establish Bangla as a state language in undivided Pakistan in 1952. • When Mohammad Ali Zinna, then the governor general of Pakistan declared Urdu, would be only the state language of Pakistan, the heroic sons of Bangla, Rofique, Salam, Zabbar and others protest at that time and sacrifice their lives for their mother tongue, Bangla. This is called language movement. As a result we get Bangla as our state language. Today it is an international language. All countries of the world observe the day. We are proud of our heroic sons and their sacrifices.
