IMPACT OF COVID-19 • HIGHCLASS fashion and design during this impact of covid-19 its activities became slow this resulted in less cash flow. Schools have to close and we lost orders from school children which we sew during their prom nights for school leavers and also we lost in sewing for pre-school uniforms. My business made a very big loss in that we could’nt even buy material during hard times of lockdown all shops were closed and there was no movement. • Salaries were cut into half and employees had to work from home to avoid the spread of the virus and safety. Part time employees lost their jobs. “Voice and Choice! Empower women, End Violence. ”
MITIGATION STRATEGIES • Each time I have a customer I make sure I sanitize them and everyone is wearing a mask, this make my business to keep going because I do take care of my customers and their finished product are being delivered. • I have been sewing masks since covid started this has boost my income as in some cases i sew orders in bulk for companies. E. g sewing 200 masks in commemoration of GBV in church and other companies. • We do maintain the social distancing when we are at the work place. “Voice and Choice! Empower women, End Violence. ”
FORWARD STRATEGIES ON COVID 19 • As a way forward il keep maintaining all the covid regulations , finished product for customers delivered and because I have most of my customers measurements i will sew and deliver what a customer want. • Advertising of my products in social media have helped me a lot. • By May I will be starting my sewing classes with about 15 already registered students 5 each in a class on different times and days. “Voice and Choice!
