What do you need to do? • Between Monday to Thursday every week you must visit the ward/department you have been allocated to and speak to 3 staff members and ask them the questions specific to each standard • This is a great way to coach staff if they are unsure about some of the standards and how they link to best care • Remember this is about supporting our staff so take time to clarify any questions they may have • Then every Thursday via VC the EMA leadership team will huddle • This will be a 30 minute meeting where you will be asked to feedback what you saw/heard during your walk around, think about: - what areas were the staff well prepared? - are there areas we should focus on? - do we need to do anything differently?

What do you need to do? • Brief your teams that the walk arounds

What do you need to do? • Brief your teams that the walk arounds will occur so they know what to expect • Explain that the goal of the process is to support staff • Ensure all ANUMs have a copy of the audit sheet and ask them to also speak to 3 staff on their own ward over the course of the week, complete the audit and submit this to you by the end of the week • This is a great way to engage your leadership team and ensure the team are working together! • Every Monday review the audits from the week prior: - what trends do you notice? - do you need to focus on additional areas? - how do the trends link to your clinical dashboard? - how will you communicate this back to your leadership team and staff?
