All students must dedicate one Saturday a month and two weeks in the summer. • As Superintendent of Lafayette County Schools, I feel it is my responsibility to provide our staff and students every opportunity for success when it comes to the delivery of the lesson as well as the absorption of the knowledge. The affects of COVID-19 created panic for all our stakeholders. Therefore, with ESSER funding, we now have the ability to offer all students in Lafayette County Schools a computer so education will continue when there is a need for staff and students to go to a virtual setting. (when the technology arrives) • Lafayette County Schools have many great opportunities for our young people. Our elementary continues to see great results from Response to Intervention which is called CUB TIME. Our high school offers Pre-AP courses for our Junior High students, and RTI is being held for Math, ELA and Science. For our High School students, LCHS offers 18 concurrent credit/ College Courses, and a total of 86 courses for our students. Lafayette County offers activities ranging E-Sports, a new robotics program to an exciting marching band. We have excellent Vocational programs which provides our students many opportunities preparing them to enter the work force or further their education. There truly is something for everyone at Lafayette County Schools.
Facilities • In regards to our facilities, our “Cougar Arena” is rivaled when compared to schools in our classification as well as in our area. Our FFA show barn as well as our trap shooting houses are still envied by visitors. For 2019 -20 we have replaced HVAC units, installed a cover for our accessibility ramp, and tightened security measures at both campuses. Our Auditorium renovation is complete with new HVAC units, painted walls, new carpet and a new roof. The installation of touchless water fountains and hands free paper towel dispensers will be complete by the end of October. Plexiglas shields were installed at our office areas. Some preventative maintenance issues which have been completed: HVAC systems were cleaned and filters changed, exit doors, classrooms, hallways and restrooms were painted, and railing painted at both campuses.

Conclusion • As Superintendent, I would like to encourage all stakeholders within our communities to get involved with the school system and take an active role in the education of our young people. As stated many times my door is always open. Help Lafayette County Schools continue to build an educational environment that will be positive and inviting to all.
