A. Fa. D. O. C. onlus (Association of patient’s Families with Growth Factor Deficency and Other Rare Diseases) is the only Italian non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of patients and families affected by rare diseases such as: Turner Syndrome, Panhypopituitarism, SGA (born small for gestational age) and others. The main purpose of the association is to support families and patients morally and psychologically, helping them to overcome the impact of diagnosis and difficulties, accompanying them throughout the course of therapy, sometimes for lifelong. Since 1993 our main activities (national workshops, school camps, local conferences) always provide up-to-date medical information and structured psychological support for parents, adult patients, children and adolescents. From 2010 to 2015 A. Fa. D. O. C. has proposed an awareness campaign in Italy each year. These campaigns were designed to bring to the attention of the public the issues involved in the association, but with poor results. A. Fa. D. O. The setting of our Campaign was wrong, so it did not give the expected results. Our focus was maybe «the association» and not «the growth of children» . In 2016 we did not propose the Campaign. TWO EVENTS IN THE CAMPAIGN SUNDAY 17 September in Brescia Event aimed at Citizenship that has brought to the attention of parents, doctors and teachers the growth of children and on particular attention that must be placed when growth presents difficulties, irregularities. TUESDAY 26 September in Roma Meeting aimed at parents and teachers to focus the attention on the regular growth of the child as the most important indicator of his health and on the problems that irregular growth can hide.
