2018 Agriscience CDE April 4, 2018 (Wednesday) Exam 170 Teams possible – 680 individuals – 57 teams per group CDE runs from 4: 00 PM to 8: 00 PM (exam from 4 to 4: 50 PM and 3 rotations from 5 to 8 PM) with 45 minutes for each rotation Practica A Practica B • 50 Question Test • Home-based practica • On-campus practica (Team Activity) • Multiple choice format • Unit 4 from textbook (should be • Will be Exercise # 18 (Dissecting a Complete Flower) • 35 -40 questions from core material (units 15, 16, 17, 21, and 22) • 10 -15 questions from optional sections from the agriscience textbook (units 1, 2, and 4) • 50 minutes to complete • The exam will take place on campus. All students must take the exam at 4 PM in the Great Plains Room on East Campus. • No resources allowed while taking the examination (notes, cell phones, etc. ) • Each contestant must have two pencils…pencils will not be provided • All four scores will be used in the CDE for award purposes • 200 points possible prepared for activities from Unit 4) • Exercise 5 from lab manual – Your Career in Agriculture (any career occupation will qualify for the Nebraska Agriscience CDE) • Student activities and practica from the teacher’s resource guide • Follow scoring rubric for guidance, direction, and evaluation criteria • Reports (including alternate reports) will be printed off and sent via mail (postmarked by Monday, March 26 th) to the Agriscience CDE coordinator • 100 points possible NOTE: Exercise #18 comes from the 4 th Edition of the Agriscience Lab Manual which can be found on page 87. • All materials for the exercise will be provided onsite including rubber gloves, and exercise supplies (all four contestants must be present for the exercise) • Each student must bring a pair of splash-proof or regular safety glasses for this practica • Students must be trained on using a dissection kit, including proper use of a scalpel • 45 minutes will be provided to complete the practica exercise • 50 to 75 % identification and 25 to 50 % multiple choice questions about the plant system. • 300 points possible – Team Points Only Individual score – 300 pts (1200 total) Team Score – 300 pts Total Score – 1500 pts (1200 + 300) Must have all four individual present to compete for team awards
