Online Subject Registration Session l Due to the implementation of the GST, our payment system will no longer be linked concurrently to the online subject selection. Therefore, we will offer two sessions of online subject selection: l (1) Morning session: Payment before 8. 30 AM ~ 12 PM (subject selection on the same day are available from 2 PM~6 PM) l l (2) Afternoon session: Payment after 1 PM (online subject selection MUST wait until the next day)
Online subject selection, course evaluation and checking results l l l Students can log on to the website of New Era University College at http: //cmsserver. newera. edu. my/ to access subject selection, course evaluation and checking the academic results every semester. System of Online Subject Selection will be opened one week before and after the semester begins 2 weeks while results checking is opened in the whole year. System of Online Course Evaluation will be opened 2 weeks before the semester ends. Compulsory language subjects 1 Chinese Language (not for BCL & TCSL) a) Advanced Chinese -(1 semester, 2 credit hrs) (UEC (Senior middle)/SPM holder with Chinese language ) b) Intermediate Chinese -(1 semester, 2 credit hrs) (PMR holder with Chinese language ) c) Beginner Chinese -(1 semester, 2 credit hrs) (UPSR holder with Chinese language ) d) Basic Chinese level I & II -(2 semesters, 1 credit hr each level) (no Chinese qualification as the above /non. Compulsory language subjects 2 Bahasa Kebangsaan A – 3 credits * SPM holder, No Credit in BM have to take Bahasa Kebangsaan A which offered in Mar Semester. * All UEC holder (UEC certificates are not recognised by government)。 * You will earn extra 3 credits.

Conditional Exemption 1 For Advanced Chinese Language • • • UEC, Grade A 1、A 2、B 3、B 4 SPM, Chinese Language/Literature, Grade A+、A、ASTPM, Grade C or above HSK, Grade 5 or above. Students who exempted from Advanced Chinese have to take “Ceramics Appreciation” or “Basic Grammar” to replace the credits. RM 85 material fees for Ceramics Appreciation.
Conditional Exemption 2 For English language, • IELTS, Band 6 or above • TOEFL, minimum score of 560 /230 in computer based test • A-Level, Grade C or above • Distinction in English language in public examinations of other English speaking countries
Conditional Exemption 3 For MPU Subjects, – Pengajian Malaysia, – Tamadun Islam, – Hubungan Etnik, – Bahasa Kebangsaan • Pass in MPU subjects of other colleges
Application procedures for Credit Exemption 1. Fill in “Exemption application form” (AA-Re-03) 2. Attached with photocopy of course results 3. Submit to Academic department before 23/5/2017.
Application procedures for Maximum Credit Limit 1. Fill in “Maximum Credit Limit/Retake Application Form” (AA-Re-02) 2. Approved by Head of Department 3. Submit to Academic department before the deadline.
Non attendance and Absence 1 l Students who cannot attend classes due to specific reasons must apply for approval from the head or deputy head of department. • Non attendance: Cases with approval • Absence: Cases without application or approval. l The percentage of attendance for each course must not be less than 80%. l Exclusion from examination: A student who has been absent from class for more than 20% of the total credit hours for a particular course will be BARRED from taking the examination for the course. The result for the course will be computed as ZERO.
Non attendance and Absence 2 l Non attendance reasons ( with proven documents are not considered as absence). • Sick leave (applied on the second day ) • family bereavement leave (applied within 5 days) l Leave application should be approved by head or deputy head of department. l Leave applications after the deadline will be considered as ABSENCE

• • For each subject, GP between 1. 33 and 1. 67(scores between 40%-49%) will be indicated as “Sufficient for the award of credit” and retake optional. GP less than 1. 33(scores between 0%-39%) is considered “Fail” and the student has to re-take the relevant subject. BUT • To fulfill minimum graduating requirement, a student has to achieve Cumulative Grade Point Average results (CGPA) of 2. 0 and above. * Calculation for the CGPA please refer to Students Handbook.
Absence from Examination • The result of student who is absent from an examination without a valid reason (including test, assignment and project) will be computed as ZERO mark. • The student will not be allowed to re-sit and must retake the relevant subject.
Replacement Examination 1 l Students who are not able to sit for examinations due to l l l family bereavement hospitalization for serious ailment or unable to attend practical examinations due to proven injuries AND l l have been approved to take leave are allowed to take the examination once, with the actual scores taken as the official results.
Replacement Examination 2 Students who are not able to sit for examinations due to sick leave or are unable to attend practical examinations with proven reasons AND l have been approved to take leave are allowed to take the examination once, l with 60% of the actual score taken as the official results. l Replacement of examination must be taken on the dates as specified. l For those who cannot attend on the specified dates, no reasons whatsoever will be accepted for requests to arrange further replacement. l
Application procedures for Replacement Examination 1. Fill in “Replacement Examination Application Form” (RO/FORM/6) 2. Approved by Head of Department 3. Submit to Academic department before the deadline. (Replacement examination should be applied 48 hours within the related examination on)
Re-assessment application procedures • After results release, if the student unsatisfied with his/her result, he/she may apply for re-assessment. • Fill in “Re-assessment Application Form” (RO/FORM/7) • Make payment at the Finance Office • Fee: RM 53 per subject
Cheating • Should any cheating be detected, the student will be given a ZERO score for the subject. • The student has to re-take the subject concerned. • If there is a second instance of cheating, student will be suspended or expelled.
Re-sit Examination 1 For Current Graduates, • Only for LAST subject • Fee : RM 128 each subject
Re-sit Examination 2 For MPU subjects (*Bahasa Kebangsaan, Pengajian Malaysia, Tamadun Islam, Hubungan Etnik) l Each student is entitled to re-sit ONCE for each MPU subjects, the maximum score for the subject shall be fixed at 50%. l In the event of failure in the re-sit, student may apply for a re-take of the subject concerned. l Re-sit Fee: RM 128 each subject.

Application procedures for Retake 1. Fill in “Maximum Credit Limit/Retake Application Form” (AA-Re-02) 2. Approved by Head of Department 3. Make payment at the Finance Office 4. Submit to Academic department before the deadline. * Retake fee: Diploma + Foundation + Certificate : Current students: RM 100 per credit hour Deferred students: RM 200 per credit hour Degree : RM 350 per subject
Withdrawal • CGPA of less than 2. 00 in two continuous semesters, excluding those with special approval from the Academic Committee will be terminated from the course, BUT • CGPA 1. 70 and above can appeal to continue studie • CGPA 1. 69 and below can re-register • Please proceed to Registrar’s office
Programme completion and graduation • Students who are taking Certificate / Foundation programmes are allowed to proceed to the Diplomas or Degrees programme , if: • CGPA at least 2. 00 or above and • Complete the required courses and credits in the specified time period.
