BRHN’S 2017 FOOTPRINT From January 1 through December 31, 2016, BRHN provided direct counseling to 231 families and/or individuals in the Northern Shenandoah Valley. Provided rental counseling to 129 clients. BRHN had 37 participants attend the homebuyer Educational Classes. The foreclosure prevention program provided counseling to 16 new clients. BRHN has created a homeownership program for residents at or below 80% of the area median income. The program is designed to make successful homeowners. In 2016, 49 clients received pre-purchase counseling and 12 families were able to purchase with the assistance of our down payment program. BRHN provided $127, 210. 00 in down payment and closing cost assistance made available through the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development and the Northern Shenandoah Valley Regional Commission. BRHN provided $42, 451. 65 in tenant based rental assistance made available through the Northern Shenandoah Valley Regional Commission.
