Co. A Recommendations- March 2017 Recommendation: The SAIS staff should review ways in which the schools could develop a more even approach to the writing of their school reports. • Response: SAIS Accreditation Workshop attendance is now mandatory.

Recommendation: There have been situations when there has been inadequate time for compliance issues

Recommendation: There have been situations when there has been inadequate time for compliance issues to be fully sorted out and resolved by the school prior to the arrival of the Visiting Committee. The SAIS staff should consider adjusting the timing of Pre-Visits for the fall visiting team to the early spring of the preceding year. • Response: The current requirement for pre -visits is 6 -9 months prior to the team visit. We request that chairs schedule the previsit closer to 9 months prior to the team visit.

A Second Set of Recommendation: The SAIS Staff should consider what vulnerabilities are inherent

A Second Set of Recommendation: The SAIS Staff should consider what vulnerabilities are inherent in the Pre-Visit which currently relies solely on the abilities and expertise the chair to discern adherence to established standards and compliance criteria that range from the basic to the complex. SAIS Staff might consider adding additional experienced personnel to the Pre-Visit or reducing the required workload. • Response: Add a second person/co-chair when requested by the chair to the review of the documents in the portal.

Let the school know what docs or evidence they are missing so that you can see it. www. sais. org/acc_documents
