Nominee § Nominee: Blue Ocean Operating Management Co. , Ltd § Service: www. health. com. mm § Category: Digital Opportunity Award
What is www. health. com. mm ? § health. com. mm is Myanmar first comprehensive doctor search platform. § Best for search of Doctors/ Hospitals/ Laboratories/ Clinics/ Home – healthcare centers by proximity and specialty. § Listing is free to all medical facilities without bias but after completing satisfactory due-diligence to avoid fraud and misrepresentation. § Trust and Credibility of search results is our primary objective.
Blue Ocean Operating Management Company § The platform, owned by Blue Ocean Operating Management Company, operates under the brand of Doctor. On. Call. It also has an associated 24/7 doctor helpline (1877) and a cloud based electronic health record system (EHER). The components of the platform (search, helpline and EHR) make it first and unique in Myanmar. § Blue Ocean Operating Management Company Limited – known locally as Boom – has been a leading and pioneering provider of telecommunications services in Myanmar since 2009. In 2013, Boom earned the ISO 9001: 2008 international certification for quality management and joined the United Nations Global Compact for corporate citizenship.
Boom…Contd § Thanks to its hard work, Boom received the most admired ASEAN Enterprise and Young Entrepreneur award in 2014, and went on to win the 2014 ASEAN ICT gold award for Corporate Social Responsibility and the President's Award Gold Medal for Medium Enterprises (Services) the following year. § 100% locally-owned, Boom counts over 500 Myanmar employees in Yangon and fosters a distinctly customercentric, innovation-driven and results-oriented culture centered on core value of Customer centricity and Teamwork
Digital revolution in Myanmar § The demand consumption of digital services has been rising exponentially since 2013 when the new mobile operators fuelled a data services boom by lowering rates and thereby changing the way people lead their daily lives. § Prior to the liberalization of Myanmar's telecommunications sector in 2013, mobile penetration stood below 7 percent out of a population of 52 million. Within a mere 2 -year period, this number has skyrocketed to more than 50 percent, and is expected to rise as the three main Mobile Network Operators - MPT, Telenor and Ooredoo - vie to expand their 3 G network to more and more rural communities.
Conventional Search Limitations § Traditional methods of doctor search have been recommendation based of friends and family and their experiences, good or bad. This has severe limitations given that (a) it reduces the scope of reaching out for a second opinion independently (b) doesn’t guarantee proximity of the “recommended” facility (c) not helpful in times of emergency (d) last but not the least, takes a long lead-time for a doctor/facility to establish in the market.
Digital Platform based Search § Our search platform attempts to address all these limitations. The customer is not restricted by recommendations to scope out an independent second opinion. Also can search for the nearest service provider easily and is especially handy during emergencies. § We allow, at a very nominal cost, an opportunity for the providers to advertise themselves without compromising on the integrity of the search. Providers who choose to advertise are clearly tagged as sponsored links in the search results. The customer can thereby make an informed and rational choice.
