Factors to consider • Adult umpires do not want to work more than 3 games in one day (average of 7 -10 miles running in one day) or more than 20 miles from home • Adult umpires are doing this for the kids and when they want off they are very adamant about not working • 2015 and 2016 SIR data indicate that adult umpires are preferred at all levels • Adult umpires prefer to work higher level games • Most difficult part about being an umpire: Coaches disrespect and lack of common courtesy 2016 Summer Workshop • Most umpires also work other sports during the spring season

Boys Topics B team- has the "3 and 1" rule been adopted? I would love to see more A teams but struggle to find a way to ensure this. EOS festivals- RSVP should have a cancellation function. If a team does cancel within 10 days of a festival, that team cannot participate next year. Teams need to be accountable. While I know I will get push back, I think the flighted tournaments for the B teams should be abandoned. This could put more pressure for clubs wanting to compete for a championship to go A. OT me B teams is more "rec" and A teams are "competitive". If we do continue the flighted tournaments, games that count towards standings need to be cut off a week earlier to ensure a smoother scheduling process. U 9 kickoff festival- set a budget for paid coaches. survey clubs if this is something they want to do. A team and high school Playoffs- 16 or fewer A teams/high school team go to a 4 team playoff. High school- ncjla will no longer have high school teams in its league starting the 2018 season (possibly 2019). There are only 12 teams left and a total of 22 in the state. Recommend these teams create their own league or make a stronger push to go Varsity 2016 Summer Workshop Better and more clear process of setting guidelines if a player wants to switch teams. Playing up and playing down. If it is a board decision then all request should go to the board, not through the director. Just a layer of confusion. I would consider a no-team changing rule or a once you switch, you cannot switch back.
