2016 Earth Science Honors Project

Website • Must contain information about a specific topic from the course. • Must include information on careers related to that topic. • Must include both verbal (words) and visual (images/pictures) presentation of the topic.

Video • Must be a documentary, “Bill Nye style” or ORIGINAL music video of a song you compose. • Presents information on a specific topic from the subjects covered in the course. • Students must record and edit their own video. Music isn’t required but can be key in improving the quality of the video.

Model • Can include a variety of different things (for example solar system model, wind turbine, solar powered car, water filtration system, model rocket etc. ) • Can’t be created using a store bought kit. It can include parts purchased separately, but it must be obvious that the model was created by the student.

Progress Checks • Will vary based on project chosen. • First progress check will be Friday 23 rd (this Friday). For this check you will write a proposal. Include which option you have chosen, what specific topic you will cover (for example don’t choose ecosystems, choose deforestation of the rainforest and how it affects organisms living there. ) Student and parent must sign proposal.
