2015 Wren Men’s Hurricane Soccer

Schedules � � Here is the 2015 Schedule for JV and Varsity The tournament dates and times have yet to be determined We have a challenging schedule, but, I have declined to add the maximum number of games allowed due to make up dates, etc. I do not want us in a situation where we may have four matches in a week and are not ready for region play

Athletic Policy and Handbook � � � Here is your copy of the Athletic policies and handbook, even if you have signed this for another sport; I need one for your soccer folder I only need the signature page back, but, it must be signed and dated by the student athlete and a parent All paperwork should be returned at one time on January 5

Physicals � � � Raise your hand if you have not played a sport this year and did not get a physical in May by our doctors I need these back by January 5 or you can not participate in pre-season conditioning. This means you will have a very slim chance of making the team I need front and back filled out and we can only use our form. A form from your doctor can not be accepted this year

Insurance � � � Insurance cost is $55. 00 and I am going to hand out a copy of Bollinger policies on insurance I need insurance paid by the first practice, which will be February 9 If your son has played for the high school this year, you do not need to pay. If he played another sport at the middle school, I need the difference of $25. 00; checks are made payable to Wren High School

Rule Changes � � Goal Keepers must have a jersey on under their keeper shirt, with a number Mouth protectors must be clear or white Varsity must wear White Jerseys and White socks at home We will not be purchasing socks this year, I need the money to go to new uniforms. If you would like to purchase the Under Armour socks, they are $10. 00 per pair. White or Royal Blue.

Conditioning � � � Starts on January 5 at the track We will condition for stretch and cardio for about one hour, then we will go to the weight room and lift weights for about one hour Be prepared to condition from 3: 45 -5: 45 in preparation for our season Missing workouts and conditioning will be very detrimental to playing time or making the team In order to win the Region and beyond, we must get stronger and be in better shape than our opponents

Junior Varsity Expectations � � � Our Junior Varsity will practice with our Varsity everyday, unless Varsity has a match that day We will play in a Junior Varsity Tournament 3 Members of the Junior Varsity team will be required to stay for all Varsity home matches. These players will sign up and alternate dates. Their duties will include filming the game from the press box and two men handling ball duties on the touch lines

Goals � � � � Varsity- Win the TL Hanna Tournament Varsity- Win the Region Varsity- Have a winning record Junior Varsity- Win the Ice Breaker Tournament Junior Varsity- Win the Region Junior Varsity- Have a winning record All Teams- HAVE FUN AND GET BETTER!

Concessions and Contact � � Kelley Larson has very graciously volunteered to get our concession stands staffed and stocked this season, I will let her speak a little bit about sign up sheets and concessions We also need parents to help in the press box with score keeping, ect. Mrs. Wallace and Mrs. Perry have helped out quiet a bit in the past, but, they may need some helps as well.

Fundraising � � � We will be following the same model as the girls have used for several years I am handing you a copy of the contract they use for advertisers Our current budget is $2092. 42 The booster club will match us with $1000. 00 as soon as we raise $1000. 00 I would also like to raise money through the alumni game, by selling concessions and t-shirts for the players, banners , and any other suggestions you might have. We really need about $100. 00 per athlete. We need to begin to have a RR for nets, goals, etc.

Things we want to purchase New White Uniforms

Bags with player number Seniors will get to keep these and I will have any accomplishments such as Region champs, All region, etc. put on the bag
